Advent 2016: Family Program

hope

During Advent this year, Holy Family’s Junior Daughters of the King chapter led a family Advent program on Wednesday evenings. Families took turns supplying a soup supper, and activities were led by Jr. DOK leaders Ruth Everett and Kristine Canter. It was a special way to reflect on the weekly Advent themes and spend time with our church family.

Daughters of the King are Christian women, both lay and ordained, who are strengthened through the discipline of a Rule of Life, and supported through the companionship of their sisters. They are at different stages of their Christian journeys – some have just begun and some have been on this path for a long time. But no matter where they are on their sacred journeys, their primary goal is the same – to know Jesus Christ and to make Him known to others. Jr. DOK Prayer Hike

dok-hike-1

On October 9th, seven of the Mary & Martha Jr. Daughters of the King picnicked at and hiked through Ritchey Woods in Fishers. It was a beautiful afternoon as their co-directresses led them on a nature walk and discussed the day’s homily. The event ended with a discussion of upcoming activities and plans for the rest of the year. For more information about our Jr. Daughters of the King chapter, please contact Ruth Everett or Kristine Canter at mmjrdok@gmail.com.

This service of preparation for Junior membership takes place before prospective members begin a three-month study and discernment period.
