The Role of the Laity – Adult Forum
Here’s the church and there’s the steeple, open the door and see all the people! This phrase comes from a traditional nursery rhyme that many of us learned a long, long time ago. While the nursery rhyme might be old, the message is still as relevant today as it was when the rhyme was written. The people who are the church, play a significant role in faith as they carry on Jesus’ mission throughout the world.
Join me for the next series in our Adult Forum program, The Role of the Laity. As Episcopalians, the laity shoulder a crucial responsibility by fulfilling vital roles in worship, leadership, and spreading the faith into the world. As baptized members, they laity are called to be ministers alongside the ordained, participating in church governance, leading worship, and serving the community through their unique gifts and vocations in their daily lives. – Fr Frank
